FBAS 2024 in Beijing, China

We had the opportunity to participate in the 4th International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (FBAS 2024). This forum is a key platform for fostering collaboration around leveraging Big Data to support sustainable development.

Focus on Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN)

Cesar Luis Garcia (CEO of Apacheta and Co-Lead of GEO-LDN Working Group 4) presented significant advances in "Land Productivity Dynamics: Algorithms and Tools for Monitoring Land Degradation."

We were also honored to speak in a special session titled “Global Sustainable Development: Reliable Assessment Based on Big Earth Data,” where the challenges of data gaps and the importance of high-resolution data for SDG 15 were highlighted.

This forum has been an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration with our hosts institution: The International Research Centre of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) and to continue working on high-resolution LPD solutions to support Small Island Developing States (SIDS) countries together with Prof. Li Xiaosong and his team.
